WEATHERIZATION PROGRAM

The Weatherization Program helps reduce the impact of rising energy costs through the installation of energy conserving measures - insulation, caulking and weather-stripping. What gets done in a home, depends on the results of an energy audit that determines the existing conditions in your home.

Eligibility:
If you are on Energy Assistance and your house has not been previously weatherized since 1993 (we have records on what houses we have weatherized previously), you are eligible for weatherization. Then, we look at priorities in the household-elderly, handicapped, children under 6 and high consumption.

Weatherization is available in 5 counties of Prairie Five's service area, however, we only get to about 60 homes throughout the area in a year.
